Tate County is served by Grenada Railway, which goes directly through Senatobia and Coldwater. It is operated by RailUSA, a division of International Rail Partners, it was previously operated prior to 2018 by Iowa Pacific Railway. The entire line is undergoing a rehabilitation project with the goal of upgrade the entire track to Class 3 (40 MPH) operating standards and the industry standard 286,000 lbs. bridge capacity by mid-2019. The $15.05 million project is being supported with $7.54 million Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (“INFRA”) Grant, a $4 Million load from the state of Mississippi along with RailUSA investing the required matching funds.
